How much does a Locum Tenens Registration cost?

$300 for a 90-day registration. The registration can be extended for another 90-day period, however, you must pay an additional $300.

Do I need to have a current license to practice medicine in order to apply for a Locum Tenens?

Yes. The applicant needs to be actively licensed to practice medicine in another state.

also be paid in order to extend the registration for another 90 days. (see question #3)

Where will the registration be mailed?

Upon approval of the application, the Locum Tenens Registration will be mailed to the sponsoring physician.

Does the sponsoring physician need to send anything for my application?

Yes. The sponsoring physician must provide a written request stating if the registration is for substituting or assisting him/her and also the exact starting date the registration is needed.
