The Osteopathic Board is an administrative agency that regulates the osteopathic medical profession (the DO’s) licensed to practice in Arizona according to Arizona Revised Statutes. The primary mandated goal of the Board is to protect the public from unlawful, incompetent, unqualified, impaired or unprofessional practitioners. In order to carry out this duty, the Board receives and investigates complaints and other information that is reported pursuant to the Arizona Revised Statutes.

Filing a HIPPA complaint
Because the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal law, not a state law, complaints alleging violations of HIPAA must be made directly to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Civil Rights. The Board has no authority to investigate or act on these complaints.
